As reported previously, the Casinos in Russia have been ordered to close down with effect July 1st 2009. Casino gambling in that country will be restricted to four remote areas of the country. Feeling sorry for the high rollers of Moscow, one entrepreneurial Casino in London has decided to fly them into the English capital.
According to the Moscow Times the Mayfair casino in London is arranging a special package that will enable high rollers from Les Ambassadeurs club in Moscow to fly by private jet into London and be transferred to the Casino by chauffeur driven car to enjoy all the casino games that are no longer possible in Moscow. Spokesman for the club James Black said that he anticipated with the closures in Moscow the idea of being able to continue gambling could be attractive to a number of big players and that they would be welcome in London. It is not clear what constitutes a high roller in their eyes but obviously the casino needs to cover its considerable outlay.
Some moves were expected from neighbouring countries such as Georgia, Armenia or Kazakhstan but London may have stolen a march at least for the time being.
