Continuing the results season now it is the turn of 888 Holdings to release numbers for the second quarter of 2009. 888 Holdings are one of the largest online betting companies and are based in Gibraltar; they have reported an operating income of $61 million for the second quarter which is a drop of $8million compared to the same quarter of 2008. On the other hand the company could report that second quarter operating income was 7 percent better than the previous quarter and the number of real money registered players was increasing both in Casino and Poker operations.
Poker is remaining weaker than other parts of the business which according to 888 Holdings is in line with industry trends.
Chief Executive Officer, Mr Gigi Levy said “ We enter the seasonally quieter summer period with delivery of our strategy on track and we remain committed to investing in the business in spite of the macro-economic environment”.
“We are confident of delivering further growth during 2009 based on additional planned business-to-consumer activities and a set of newly launched business-to-business partnerships, which we expect to start generating revenues in the coming months”.
