William Hill is in the news again by announcing two significant changes to the senior management team including a new position of Brand and Marketing Director reporting directly to CEO Ralph Topping and responsible for development of the William Hill brand across the whole business. The new incumbent is Mr Kristof Fahey comes from being Vice President International Marketing at Yahoo Inc. Mr Fahey has spent several years in the communications industry with companies such as Orange and Blackberry. Mr Topping said “ we are delighted to welcome Kristof as the latest appointment in our continuing development of the senior management team”.
The second appointment follows the decision by Finance Director Simon Lane to step down after four years in the post during which time he oversaw the recent £300 million bond issue. He is expected to receive in the region of £1 million in pay and other entitlements. Taking his place will be Mr Neil Cooper who is currently Finance Director at Bovis Homes Group plc. It is believed that Mr Cooper has yet to agree a leaving date from Bovis but Mr Lane will continue in his post until he arrives. In a statement William Hill Chairman Charles Scott said “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Simon for his important contribution to William Hill, including his significant efforts in helping to make our balance sheet much stronger during 2009”.
