In the casino news this week is the move of Nick Rust, who has been Managing Director of Coral for the past three years, to a major competitor in the online casino business Ladbrokes. Ladbrokes casino has had a new Chief Executive since April in the form of Richard Glynn and it was believed that management changes would happen but this appears to be the first. No detail has yet been given in casino news about the post which Mr Rust will be given but it is believed he may be given responsibility for the running of the betting shop business rather than the online casino business; Richard Ames who currently holds that position would then be moved to another role within the business. Ladbrokes would not comment on the positions to be offered but did say “Ladbrokes is delighted that Nick Rust has chosen to join the group at this time and is equally delighted to retain the services of Richard Ames, who continues to deliver operational change and create value”
Mr Rust has yet to complete negotiations with Coral about his departure but the Chairman of parent company Gala Coral said “We are sorry to lose Nick. We have not agreed an exit date. He says that he has the job opportunity of a lifetime and we wish him well”
What changes this will bring in the online casino world is unclear but we shall keep our ears open for further casino news as it happens.
