Two recent incidents involving “Ladies of a certain age” have caused commotion in the Bingo world with Ladbrokes coming out a winner. Last week a 96 year lady was banned for life from all Bingo halls of a major operator for landing a left hook on an assistant manager. The lady was apparently having a “discussion” about her favourite seat being occupied when she entered the hall; the assistant manager tried to sort it out but ended up with a bruised left eye. The Bingo operator said that the Lady in question had been in similar incidents before and they could not allow their staff to be subjected to verbal or physical abuse. We think that maybe the Lady in question was looking for a job with Ladbrokes!
Mrs Rosalyn Clemson, a 76 year old, and her husband were banned from all Bingo halls of a different operator not for violence this time but for organizing day trips to competitors halls for a change of scenery which was apparently against membership rules. After 14 months of exile Ladbrokes Bingo heard of the lady and her depressed state and offered her a job. Mrs Clemson is now the new Ambassador for the internet Bingo site of Ladbrokes Bingo and the role will be to use her 50 years of bingo playing experience to advise on new bingo games and promotions.
It has not been disclosed what salary the position commands but at least she has been presented with a company car; well not really a car but a shiny new mobility scooter.
Good for you Ladbrokes, have you got room for a 96 year old?
