Those of us who were introduced to casino games at a real casino in our local area were generally restricted to casino games such as roulette, blackjack or in some cases the occasional poker tournament run by the casino. The casino game of Baccarat for example was only available in some European casinos and for many years had the reputation for being a casino game only played by high rollers, an opinion often backed up by the fact that Baccarat was played in a separate room away from the main floor of the casino. Now that we have access to the online casinos we are able to play many more casino games, including Baccarat, and we do not have to be in the category of a high roller to play. Baccarat is a very easy casino game to play, in spite of the complexity of the rules, because it is a game controlled entirely by the dealer. We have included the rules of Baccarat in our casino games pages, but they are there purely to satisfy your curiosity because to play Baccarat online or in a real casino does not require the gambler to know the rules at all. Baccarat is played one on one against the dealer, and there are only two hands on the table. The object of the game is to predict which of three possible outcomes will result from each hand, and the dealer will play both hands in accordance with the strict rules of Baccarat so there are no decisions to be made in how to play the hands. The three possible outcomes are that the dealer’s hand will win, or the player’s hand will be the best, or there will be a tie. A bet on the player’s hand when playing Baccarat at an online casino will normally pay even money, whereas a bet on the dealer’s hand usually pays 5% less than even money because there is a small edge in favour of the dealer’s hand winning. A tie in Baccarat is less likely and therefore pays odds of 8/1 or 9/1 depending on which online casino you are playing at. The online casinos have been able to dispel all the myths associated with Baccarat and it is now a casino game for us all.
