More Golden Rules of Gambling

As a sequel to our 2 publications about 5 Golden Rules here are another 3 which make sense but not everybody will follow.
- Never increase your stake when you are losing. One of the biggest fallacies of gambling is that your luck will turn. It will of course eventually but not necessarily at the moment that you want it to. Due to the very nature of Random Number Generators used by good online casinos everyone will have their average amount of luck over time but at any given day or even week that may not be true. If you are having a bad run, accept it, take your loss as being the cost of entertainment and move on. Sometimes increasing your bets to catch up on losses will work but more often than not it won’t.
- Pace yourself. More often talked about in athletics circles but equally important for gambling. Casino gambling is a form of enjoyment so where is the fun in taking your whole budget for the day and sticking it all on your first hand or spin? If you went horse racing for the day you would spread your budget over the 6 or 7 races that were going to be run so casino gambling is no different. If you have a €100 budget, don’t sit at a €25 minimum table.
- Practice your game. Unlike live casinos, most online casinos offer you the chance to play for free. This gives you an excellent opportunity to practice your game of choice and see how it all works. You can even practice a strategy or follow some of the tips that we give on this site and compare the results with another play method. Sometimes even online games can move quite quickly and it is important to know why you won or lost; there is nothing more frustrating than your wager disappearing and you sit there thinking “what happened there”. There is only one thing worse than losing and that is not knowing why you lost.
