The 6 nations Rugby starts again on Saturday February 6th with a couple of interesting ties to get the tournament going. Ireland host Italy at Croke Park which should be nothing more than a warm up match for the home side, certainly it has little value from a betting perspective with Ireland being 1/50. England host Wales at Twickenham which is far more interesting; most bookmakers are making England the odds on favourite for the game but Wales at 11/8 available at Ladbrokes could be a good bet. The other game this weekend brings Scotland and France together at Murrayfield. True to say that Scotland have not enjoyed the best of fortunes in recent years and their chances of winning the tournament cannot be called good but in a home match anything might happen especially against France who are notoriously unreliable and go from brilliant to very average from one week to the next so to be able to get 9/4 with either Boylesports or Ladbrokes is an interesting bet.
Before the tournament begins is of course the time to get the best odds on the tournament winner and France are the favourites and the best odds are available at Bwin at 2.62 compared to 2.5 at most others. If you fancy our own Irish to win then don’t place your bet with Irish bookmakers Paddy Power or Boyle who are only offering 3.25; you can get 3.45 at Bwin or 3.5 at William Hill. (Note that using our link to William Hill Casino will take you to the casino screen where you will be invited to download the casino but a simple click on the “sports” tab at the top of the page will take you to the sports page where you can click “join now” and away you go. If at some later date you want to download and play at the casino it is easy enough.). If Wales are your favourites you can get 5.5 at Bwin or Ladbrokes; for Scotland 23 is the best available at Bwin; England are best at 5.5 also at Boyle, Bwin or William Hill but if you really fancy the outsider go for Italy at 251 with Boyle, Paddy Power or Ladbrokes. William Hill and Bwin are offering a mere 151.
May the best team win.
