On August 11th we alerted you to the fact that Ladbrokes were giving away free seats to the Grand Slam of Slots worth €1,000,000 to the winner as well as running qualifying tournaments for a $3 entry fee. Well one lucky Ladbrokes player was listening and has won the €1,000,000 jackpot prize.
Stefan Stankowski from South East London, a photographer by trade, qualified for the tournament on July 18th by playing at Ladbrokes and in the final tournament which took place on the ever popular Tomb Raider slot he managed to land the jackpot. It took over 8000 players and ten days for the jackpot to fall but it certainly changed Stefan’s life; “I’m ecstatic to have won and can’t quite believe it yet. I’m absolutely stunned! What will I do with the money? Who knows; we’ll have to wait and see!” he said. On the question of quitting work Stefan replied “ I’m not thinking about leaving work at all, I absolutely love what I do and want to continue it for as long as I can”.
Stefan also let slip that he is an American football fan since having been involved in filming a game in Pasadena and on hearing this Ladbrokes decided to send him on an all expenses trip to the NFL Superbowl next February; his luck just keeps on going.
Charlie Goodenough, Head of Marketing at Ladbrokes said “it is a grat honour to be involved in creating the first online slot tournament millionaire”. He went on to say that Ladbrokes have already had one winner of over £1,000,000 this year and another player who won £50,000 twice in the last four months. The tournament may be over but there are plenty of large jackpots still to be won and as Stefan found out, somebody has to win them.
