This week has seen a number of online casino news reports which may be of interest to our readers. Firstly, the Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has signed a three year agreement with the Canadian lottery operator, British Columbia Lottery Corporation, who will apparently supply various products and services to assist Paddy Power in the operation of its online sports betting and online casino business. We do not have any more details of exactly what these products and services entail, but clearly Paddy Power are hoping that the deal will strengthen their presence in the online gaming sector. Another recent online casino news announcement concerns several of our other recommended online casinos, with Denmark about to issue 55 online gambling licenses under their new gambling laws which come into force in the new year. Amongst those online casino operators about to be licensed in Denmark are Ladbrokes, Bet365, Betfair, Bwin Party and 888 Holdings, all of which already have a significant presence in Ireland and the UK. Our third casino news report concerns the outgoing boss of Betfair David Yu, who was originally due to step down in August next year to be replaced by Breon Corcoran who is currently the Chief Operating Officer with Paddy Power. It appears that David Yu has decided that the imminent appointment of Breon Corcoran has effectively made him what he calls a ‘lame duck chief executive’, and he has decided to leave early. Betfair have announced that Stephen Morana, the Chief Finance Officer will be in temporary charge until Breon Corcoran takes over. Whilst none of these casino news reports will dramatically effect our playing of casino games at these online casinos, they do indicate a degree of optimism and growth in the online gaming industry, which we’re sure will lead to significant improvements in our online casino gaming experience.
