Since the advent of the online casinos, many of the old traditional casino games have made a comeback in terms of popularity, none more so than poker. Nowadays many poker fans will tell you that the only poker game to play is Texas Hold’em, and this is certainly the poker format most commonly played in almost all the poker tournaments around the world, but it is not the only poker game. Texas Hold’em appeals to experienced poker gamblers because there are multiple betting rounds during the course of each hand and the pots therefore tend to be bigger, but it is also a poker game which normally requires a reasonable budget to play with. Fortunately many of the online casinos have recognised that poker should not be a casino game restricted to those players who are able to risk significant sums of money, so they also offer other forms of poker on their sites. Ladbrokes and Bet365 for instance offer ‘Let it Ride’ among their range of poker games, the appeal being that ‘Let it Ride’ is a poker format which enables the player to fix a maximum stake. We have explained the rules of ‘Let it Ride’ poker in our casino games pages, but in principle it is a casino game played against the house with fixed odds paid out to winning hands according to the ranking of the hand. Before the game begins, the player is required to place three equal ante bets of at least the minimum table stake, after which he is dealt three cards face up, followed by two community cards face down in the middle of the table. At this stage the player has a choice, they can either remove one of the ante bets if the hand is unlikely to win, or they can let it ride. One of the community cards is then turned over and again the player is faced with a choice to remove one more ante bet or again let it ride. The second community card is then revealed and winning hands are rewarded according to the stake on the table and the ranking of the hand. Please note that when playing ‘Let it Ride’ online there is a specified minimum winning hand, usually a pair of tens, so make sure you check the house rules before you play.
