We have commented many times that the rise in popularity of online casinos has brought with it a resurgence in interest in poker, in particular the Texas Hold’em format which is used in most of the poker tournaments worldwide. Serious poker players favour Texas Hold’em because of the multiple betting rounds and the potential for bigger pots on each hand, but these are of course the very factors which also mean that Texas Hold’em is not a casino game for online casino customers on a limited budget. Fortunately that does not mean that those of us who find Texas Hold’em a bit too risky cannot play poker online. Many online casinos offer a variety of versions of poker in their casino games ranges, and we have detailed the rules of most of these poker formats on our individual casino games pages, including the game of ‘Let it Ride’. Available at Ladbrokes and Bet365 Let it Ride is a version of poker which is played against the house for fixed odds, thereby enabling the player to decide and control the stakes. Let it Ride works like this, the player is asked to place three equal ante bets which must be at least equal to the minimum table stake. The player is then dealt three cards face up followed by two further cards face down in the middle of the table. At this stage of the game the player can choose to remove one of the ante bets, or Let it Ride if a winning hand is possible. The first blind card is the turned over and the player can again choose to remove an ante bet or play on. The final blind card is then turned over and a winning hand is rewarded according to the fixed odds ranking of the hand and the stake remaining on the table. As you can see Let it Ride is a very simple poker format but offers exciting choices without risk of exceeding our budget. There is usually a minimum ranking specified for a winning hand, often a pair of tens, although it does vary from one online casino to another so check the house rules before you play.
