We talked about other games in the article yesterday but now we have found another piece of total madness for you at Paddy Power called Pachinko. Pachinko is a very popular game in Japan where they have special Pachinko halls set up with rows and rows of machines spinning steel balls round and trying to get them to fall into slots which pay out more balls. If you are old enough you may recollect having something similar in amusement halls at seaside resorts with a flipper on the outside of the machine which was used to propel the ball up and round a chute with the idea of dropping it into a pay slot. Pachinko in Japan is considered a game of skill but that is in our opinion a dubious claim and if you ever in Japan and fancy a go, take your ear plugs as it is very noisy indeed. At the start of the game you must select the number of balls that you wish to play the whole game with; this is important as the total game consists of 8 rounds and with each successive round, the value of the win slots increases. If you run out of balls after 2 or three rounds the game is over. Having done that you select the stakes that you wish each ball to represent which should be small to start with. You then fire the balls into the game and watch them bounce off all the pins and obstacles with the idea being to guide them into the win slots. Maybe “guide” is not quite the right word as once the ball is released you have no control at all. Balls falling into winning slots pay out in more balls which you can then use for the round 2 (or cash out if you wish). If it sounds complicated but if you set the controls on “auto shoot” you need do nothing except watch and hope. We found the sound accompanying this game very monotonous so you may wish to mute it. Total madness but good for a laugh.
